The Grapevine Boutique is an example of a small Carroll County business with something unique to offer. “Many of my customers say things like, ‘I always find something at your shop that I can’t find anywhere else,’” says owner Suzie Dyke.

Suzie offers customers “one stop shopping,” or what she likes to call “ultra” service. “I offer services beyond what you’d expect,” she says. In fact, Suzie has created The Grapevine Boutique to be much more than a shop selling women’s clothing. She does on-site alterations and creates custom jewelry, often made specifically to coordinate with a clothing purchase. 

“I’ve been a seamstress my entire life, and I love to sew,” says Suzie, who took over the business over eight years ago. “At a glance, I can analyze a person’s figure type and coloring. I also have a good intuition about an individual’s style and tastes. I bring all of those factors together to create something that is unique and makes them feel good.”

The Grapevine Boutique has many loyal customers who appreciate her selection, extra services and eye for detail. In fact, her Flora shop draws many into Carroll County from surrounding areas. “Most of my customers, probably 85%, are regional, not local,” she says.

In addition to doing style shows for local businesses and organizations, often for fundraisers, Suzie contributes to Carroll County buy making most of her purchases local.

“If I need something for the shop, I buy it locally if I can. Personally, I buy everything close to home…like Carroll County Tire, Allen’s Auto & Truck Service, Q Graphics and Stephan’s IGA,” she says.
